Easter Blessings

First, I apologize that I have no photos from class the other night!  I was so busy, I forgot to take pictures.  I had 11 wonderful ladies attend and they were very patient with me.  Thank you, ladies, for a fun evening!

Inspiration for this card came from Frenchie, a fellow demonstrator.  This is an Easel card that I made for a special friend.  She has already received her card, so I can post this.  I used the words from the retired stamp set, Easter Message, for this card.  I also used the Hardwood background stamp to create my cross.

For the inside, I stamped the flowers that are in the Easter Message stamp set for a stand.  I added Wink of Stella so the flowers glisten.  I popped this up on dimensionals to create the "stand."

I won't be posting again until after Easter, so have a blessed Easter.  Be safe if you're traveling.

Lemon Lime Twist Birthday

Today I'm working on some cards for my next class.  I reached out for my Picture Perfect Party 6X6 Paper Stack.  I'm so in love with these papers because it's easy to create a birthday or congratulatory card.  Most of the work is already done for you!

I used an older Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set for the words on this card.  I highlighted the Picture Perfect Party paper with lemon lime twist cardstock and pulled the other color from the balloons.  This is Bermuda Bay cardstock embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the Stitched Framelits to cut out a Lemon Lime Twist circle to make the Happy Birthday pop.  I attached the sentiment using dimensionals.

I LOVE this color combination!  Are these colors too bright for you?  Be sure to leave me a comment.

Birthday Candles

If you are a paper crafter, I'm sure you have lots of "scraps" saved up.  Here is the last card I made with the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  You can easily adapt this card using some of those paper scraps for the candles!  Simple, but a nice card to receive for anyone's birthday!

I still have supplies left, but haven't had time to get back to that kit!  Hopefully, tomorrow, I will have some pictures ready to post from last night's class!

I used my own cardstock, Summer Sun (Retired) and Flirty Flamingo (soon to be retired!) for this card.  I then added my candles and popped the "flames" up with dimensionals.  I used the Bird Punch (retired) to create my flames.

I used the stamp set that was included in the kit to stamp Happy Birthday and popped this up on dimensionals as well.

For the inside, I used one of the sentiment stamps that was included in the kit!

If you have old Paper Pumpkin kits laying around, be sure to check my Pinterest board, Paper Pumpkin, for some alternative ideas.

Thank You Card

I forgot to post these last two cards I made with the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit!  First picture is what the kit was designed.  Second picture is what I made with it.  Remember the kit was to make tall, skinny cards.  So not me!

So this is what I made:

Using Whisper White for the card base, I layered a piece of the Designer Series Paper from the kit with thin strips of Night of Navy cardstock and placed on the base.  I had some dragonflies cut from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, which are still available, so I cut the strip so I could randomly place them on the card.  I stamped a sentiment and layered it on Pool Party cardstock and popped up with dimensionals.

I love this card!  So are you a long, skinny card person?  What would you have done with this kit?

Drop me a line and let me know!

Sympathy Card

Today's share is a sympathy card I made using supplies from a class I did in Iowa a few years back.  I no longer had the original stamp set I used for class so I compromised.

For this card I used the Flower Shop stamp set and punch.  If you like this set, you need to get it before June as I cannot guarantee they will carry over into the new catalog!

For the background, I used a retired stamp set.  For the fencing, I used the Hardwood background stamp and cut down to size.

I don't have any more supplies cut for this card, but have a few others already cut and ready to make.  Stop in and craft with me today!

Another Celebrate YOU

For this card, I used Pool Party cardstock for the base and then added a layer of the soon retiring Flirty Flamingo cardstock.  I then added a layer of the DSP that was in the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.  Again, this panel had an opening so I used it to stamp "Celebrate" using the stamp that is in the kit.

Did you notice the "YOU" is much bigger on this card?  That's because I used my new Large Letter Framelits for this card.  I'm so in love with them that if you're on the fence about these, you need to get them!

I left the inside blank on this card.

Be sure to sign up for Paper Pumpkin today and get TWO months at half price!  If you're purchasing a subscription, be sure to hold off using it until after the two month discount.  Contact me if you have any questions!

Celebrate with Candles

This is yet another card I made using the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.

I again used the retired Summer Sun cardstock for the base.  I stamped one of the images from the Amazing You Sale-A-Bration Stamp sets for the glow.  I pulled colors from the papers for the ink.  After I stamped the "glow," I embossed my white cardstock with a retired Stampin' Up! embossing folder.  This is one of my favorite folders, Perfect Polka Dots.

I punched the "flame" using my bird punch, another favorite punch of mine that is retired.  I cut some scraps of DSP from the February Kit to create the candles.

Finally, I stamped the word "celebrate" using the stamp set that is included in this kit.  I popped this up on dimensionals.

On the inside, I added these two phrases which were both included in the stamp set with this kit.

This was a fun card to pull together.  Stop in at my store to see the original!

Amazing YOU

Today's share is another card I made using the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. This card was designed so it could be used for any celebration -- graduation, job promotion, etc.

I used Whisper White cardstock as the base and pulled in some Night of Navy cardstock for the side trim.  This particular piece of DSP had the hole already cut out so I turned my paper over, stamped my "celebrate" and then applied it to the card base.  I used the DSP as a template to make sure I stamped in the correct place.  I turned it over just in case I dropped my stamp.

I then pulled out the Celebrate You thinlet dies and die cut the "amazing" and "YOU" in the Night of Navy cardstock.  I popped the YOU up with stampin' dimensionals.

I love how this all fell together, don't you?

Another Birthday Card

Here's one more card I made using the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Here's what the kit looked like:

I used retired Summer Sun cardstock (yeah--that's a way old color!) for the card base.  I cut up and pieced together the card pieces from the original kit.

I layered Pool Party on Night of Navy and then onto a whisper white layer.  I really like how this card turned out.  I again went to Pinterest for inspiration on this card.  For the inside, I put a couple of stamps together that were included in the kit to stamp the sentiment.

This is now ready to give to a special person!

Happy Birthday Card

This is a card that came together with a variety of scraps and Whisper White cardstock.  Pulling some colors from the paper in the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit, I used Night of Navy for the base.  I also pulled in some Flirty Flamingo ribbon to top off the front.

Using the stamps provided in the kit, I stamped Happy Birthday and popped it up on dimensionals..  For the inside, I stamped in Night of Navy onto whisper white cardstock.

Thank You for Caring

Today's share is another card I made with the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I didn't want them all to be birthday, so chose a "Thank You" phrase from a retired stamp set.

I had a piece of scrap card from another card, but there was this hole in the center!  I decided to cover it with another piece of scrap from this kit.  I used Island Indigo to the window framing the phrase.  I also added a cute little butterfly so the card wasn't too plain.

Let me know what you think of this card!

It's A Party!

Today's share is a card I CASEd (Copy and share everything) from Pinterest.  Kris S. made this look so easy!  I used Pool Party for the base and added a layer of Night of Navy.  I then cut down the piece that was in the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit to fit the blue.  I used my balloon punch to punch out the balloons from the glimmer paper and scraps of DSP that were in the kit.

I wasn't fond of the tall, skinny cards so I decided I would pull this kit out and start making alternatives.  This WAS a fun card to do.

Here's the inside, using the stamp set that was included in the kit.  I used Night of Navy ink.  The kit came with Flirty Flamingo and Island Indigo ink spots.

Sympathy Card

Sympathy cards are never "fun" to make, but we know we will always use them.  This card is a kit that was left over from one of my classes.  I used a retired stamp set, Field Flowers, and the retired stamp set, Brighter Tomorrow.

I used the outgoing In-Color, Sweet Sugarplum, as a layer on this card as well as for the flowers and words.  I used Garden Green for the stem.  I used Wink of Stella on the flowers.  Here's a close-up.

Simple, but elegant.  The inside I left blank so I can stamp words appropriate for the person who receives this.

Any Occasion Celebrate!

I was trying for a more masculine card; not sure I quite pulled it off.  I know some guys like flowers, but not all of them.  This card is for any occasion, like a job promotion!

I used the card base and top layer that was provided in the Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I wrapped the supplied twine around the top layer before tying the bow.  I used one of the patterned pieces of DSP provided in the kit to cut my solid Early Expresso panel.  I then layered the Crumb Cake letters from the kit on the Expresso panel.  I popped this up on dimensionals and put flowers on the top panel.

Friend

We all love getting hand made cards in the mail.  I have a friend that is going through a difficult time here in Branson and wanted to let her know I was thinking of her.  Kathy, you and Glen are both in my prayers as you go through this difficult time.

For this card, I used a Crumb Cake base and the retiring In-Color, Sweet Sugarplum which is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the negative of the word "Friend" and put a piece of scrap cardstock behind it.  I believe this is the retired In-Color Blackberry Bliss.

I used one of the flowers in the stamp set that is included in this Paper Pumpkin kit and Sweet Sugarplum ink to stamp the flowers.  I then popped this up on dimensionals.

I hope you're enjoying these cards as much as I did making them.  I still have about 16 boxes of Paper Pumpkin kits to make, so if you want to come play with me, stop in and see me!

Another Generic Celebrate Card

If these pieces are starting to look familiar, good!  I thought this card needed a little punch, so I pulled Garden Green to go over my letters not only because it was the ink spot included in the Paper Pumpkin Kit, but also because of all the green in the papers.  I love that Stampin' Up! has the best color coordinated papers, card stock, and ink!

I used the retired Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder for this project.  I popped the floral paper,  which came in the kit,  up on dimensionals.  To give the card a little more color, I added a couple of the flower stickers to pop out of the Celebrate box.

Again, this card can be used for any occasion.  What occasion would you send this card?

Celebrate on Pink Pirouette

Today's share is another card I made with the February 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.  Since I'm away, I'm posting these cards so you can see the many different ways to change up your kit.

For this card, I used Pink Pirouette cardstock for the base.  I then added another layer of Pink Pirouette and embossed it with the Falling Petals embossing folder.  I popped the floral piece from the kit up on dimensionals.  I then added the letters and added a piece of the retired Tip Top Taupe lace trim.

This card is great for a wedding, birthday, etc.  What other occasions would you send this card?

Prayers For You

This card is another very special card I made for a special person that helps me out just about every day.  Jerry's daughter and son-in-law are both in the hospital in Amarillo, TX, so we wanted a special card that we could all sign and give to him.

I used Thoughts and Prayers for this card and my masculine "go-to" colors are Early Expresso and Crumb Cake.  This card is also a larger card because we needed space for lots of signatures.

Reminder, crafters, today is the last day to sign up for Paper Pumpkin if you want that extra surprise in your kit!

Beautiful Peacock Explosion Card

Today's share is a card I made after receiving a card swap from my upline, Susie Wood.  First picture is Susie's design.

This is a much larger card than our typical 5-1/2 X 4-1/4. For my card, I used Dapper Denim for the card base. I added a layer of Soft Sky and added Lemon Lime Twist DSP to the top and bottom.  This stamp can be earned by spending $50 and get this set FREE.  It's really beautiful and easy to stamp.

Here is the explosion portion of the card.  I wanted a lot of space for people to sign this card.  I tested a scrap piece to make sure you would be able to read the signatures and that's how I determined which paper to use.

And lastly, here is a close up of the sentiment!

Special Order Card

No, I'm not done with February's Paper Pumpkin kit, but I figured you needed a break from them.  Who knew you could get so many cards out of one kit?  I know, right?  Well today's feature is a card I made for my friend Penny.  She wanted something special for her husband for Valentines.  I showed her the cards we are making on March 27th and we mixed both cards up for this one card.   And no, she was so excited, she gave it to him before Valentines!

I hope you enjoy each panel as much as her husband did!

I used Basic Blac, Rose Red, and some retired Designer Series Papers for this card.  Penny selected the various images for each panel and the words inside as well.  Here are pictures of the panels.

And here are the inside panels.

I hope you enjoy today's share.  If you'd like to make this style of card, come out to the Branson Senior Center on Tuesday, March 27th at 6 PM!

Sweet Sugarplum Friend

Yes, I'm back with a Sweet Sugarplum alternative card for February Paper Pumpkin.  I'm almost done with the kit.  Time is running out for you to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and receive that extra special item to help celebrate Paper Pumpkin's 5th birthday!

For this card, I used a Sweet Sugarplum card base.  I then took a piece of Whisper White and ran it through the Big Shot with a retired embossing folder.  I had this extra floral piece, so I put strips of Sweet Sugarplum trim at the top and bottom to help set it off.  I ran my ink pad over the letters and remember -- use a post it note to lift and move so the letters remain straight!

I added a little vellum flag with "your awesomeness" stamped on it.  This is one of the phrases included in the stamp set that comes with your Paper Pumpkin kit.

Tell me, who wouldn't love getting this card?

Happy Crafting, friend

Berry Burst Celebration

Today's card is using another one of our In-Colors.  Berry Burst will be around for another year so look for some new papers and ribbons to come out and complement this color in June!  I love all the new In-Colors so cannot pick just one.  Which is your favorite?

I used Berry Burst cardstock for the base and then added a piece of background provided in the kit.  I also put a strip of Berry Burst behind the lettering so it would pop!  I popped this up on dimensionals and then started to build my bouquet.  I added dimensionals to some of the flowers as well to give this card a 3-D look.  I added a little scalloped edge at the bottom and then stamped "YOU" below that.  I used just a portion of the "thank you" stamp included in the kit for this.

On the inside (no photo), I put a piece of whisper white cardstock and stamped one of the little flowers in Berry Burst in the upper right corner.

I hope you are enjoying these alternative cards and consider joining Paper Pumpkin today!

Powder Pink Celebrate

Welcome back, friend.  I hope you've been enjoying the alternative cards for February's Paper Pumpkin kit.  I'm still having fun using up all the pieces!  Today's card features another In-Color, but will be available for another year!

This card would be great for a wedding or a baby shower, don't you think?

I used Powder Pink as the base for this card and then added the layer provided in the kit for the background.  I used the floral stickers to create a bouquet of flowers.  Using dimensionals, the flowers look 3-D.  I also put a layer of Powder Pink behind my letters to make it pop.  Adding a couple of pearls (included in the kit) and this card is ready to give!

Remember, you still have a few days to decide whether you want to purchase Paper Pumpkin and receive the extra gift in the celebration of 5 Years for Paper Pumpkin.

Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me!

Friend in Garden Green

If you've been following me all week, you know I'm sharing my alternative ideas for the February Paper Pumpkin Kit.  There are so many supplies that you can make 18 cards in lieu of the 9 that the kit is originally intended to make.  Where can you get supplies to make 18 cards?  Paper Pumpkin!  It gets delivered right to your door each month.  And if you do not like the kit, you can always look to Pinterest or the Facebook Page, Paper Pumpkin Fan Club to get alternative ideas.  I have a Pinterest folder just for Paper Pumpkin where I save alternative ideas that I may be interested in trying.  Take a look and then jump on in!

If you purchase a prepaid subscription before March 10th, you will receive a little something extra in your package as Paper Pumpkin is celebrating 5 years.  And you will earn a free Sale-A-Bration item if you purchase over $50!

Okay, now onto the share!  Garden Green is the inkspot that was included in the kit.  I cased (copy and share everything) this from the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club Facebook page.  I love how it turned out.

Again, with a little layering and dimensionals, I was able to make this look like a flower box. I cut down the Friend piece and layered over a piece of Garden Green cardstock and added trim.  I then added a few pearls (also included in the kit) and a twine double bow (twine is also in the kit!).

Come back on Monday, as I still have some more from this kit to share with you!

Another Sweet Sugarplum Alternative

Today's share is using Sweet Sugarplum for the back layer and I cut down the original second layer to be my third layer.  If this is confusing for you, stop in and see me so we can chat about how and why I do this! I can pull any Paper Pumpkin kit I have on hand to show you how the kit comes as well!

Since I had leftover pieces, I ran my Sweet Sugarplum ink pad over the top half of each word.  Again, I used a sticky note pad to lift the letters to keep them lined up.  I then placed them on the floral piece.  On this card, I also stamped the small flowers (remember the stamp set is included with the kit!) in Sweet Sugarplum.  I added a little of the twine from the kit to finish this card.

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'

Retiring In Colors

Every year, Stampin' Up! retires a set of In Colors as they are only purchasable for two years.  So all five of these colors will be retiring on May 31st.  This includes all papers, cardstock, ink, markers, refills, ribbons and other embellishments.  If you are fond of these colors, you need to stock up now so they aren't gone when you go to get them.

I'm highlighting one of these In Colors -- Sweet Sugarplum.  I'm still working with the February Paper Pumpkin kit, and wanted to pull one of the colors out so reading the words would be easier.  Here, I layered a piece of Sweet Sugarplum on the card base and cut down the second layer before adding my flowers.  I put a piece of Sweet Sugarplum behind the Thank You phrase so they would pop!  I also added a Sweet Sugarplum 3/8" Ruched Ribbon bow on the front.

Be sure to look at your refills and cardstock to ensure you have plenty of your favorite colors!

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'
