Sketch Challenge

During these difficult times, it's hard to get excited when you cannot craft with friends.  My upline, Susie Wood, has challenged our group to come up with a card using a sketch.  This is the card I came up with.

I used Basic Gray for the base and Seaside Spray for the layering.  I did use retired DSP because that was all I had at home.  I then brought the card into the store and finished with the sentiment.  This can be used for any man, young or old, going through a difficult time.

I like how this came out as a masculine card!  If you are interested in participating in a sketch challenge, let me know.  I'd love to see your creations!

Oh, What To Do?

Have you ever found yourself looking for something to do, but not labor-intensive?  Well, today's share are what I call Sweet Treat Pouches.  Others call them the Diaper Fold.  These are great for any occasion and you can make a bunch up and leave the sentiment off until you need them!

I use these pouches for gift cards, small gift items like jewelry, money, or candy.  For Halloween, I put the miniature candy bars inside these.

I have these available in my store for every day occasions, Birthdays, Halloween and Christmas.  I have finished sets of 3 for sale as well as kits for you to learn how to make.

Contact me today to set up a class or to purchase a kit.  Remember, we are offering curbside pickup at our store, Desiree's Emporium.

Borders

Okay, so I'm into recycling or up-cycling!  Today's share is a card I made using one of the border wall paper designs I used in my bathroom four houses ago!  Long time, but I kept just a little bit to remember.

Now, you can laugh, but yes, these are outhouses!  There is actually a HIS and a HERS and a Garden Shed on this paper, so for class, you will not be making the exact same card.  The sentiment is from one of our Paper Pumpkin kits.

I also have some rolls of wallpaper that I'd love to recycle -- I'm thinking scrapbook covers!

I  hope you enjoy these creative ideas and will try them in your own craft room.

Favorite Napkins

Do you have a favorite napkin that you used for a special occasion?  Well, today's share are two cards that I made using the Paper Napkin technique.

We will be making these cards in our card class in September.  Since the napkins only have 6 images, we will be making one of these two cards so I have enough for 10 people!

This first card I made quite a while ago.  This is one that I'll be making with my sister, Marilyn, when we do get to visit in person!

This is the second card that some of you will be making. A while back (6 years or so), I participated in a napkin swap.  This is one of the napkins that I received and really love the colors in this.

I hope to see you in one of my classes soon!

Have A Beautiful Day

Today's share was inspired by my upline, Susie Wood.  I love this style of card and hope to make many more.  I used retired product on this card -- we will be making this in our Sep 8th at 6 PM and Sep 29th at 2 pm classes.

I used retired Sweet Sugarplum for the card base and accented with retired Rose Red cardstock.  The papers are from the 2016-18 In-color pack of designer papers. The doily is also retired and I sponged with Sweet Sugarplum ink.

I used the Rose Red stampin' write marker and colored the sentiment.  This is from Painted Glass and the sentiment actually reads "Have a Beautiful Birthday."  By using a marker, I am able to change the sentiment!

Thank you for visiting me today!

Forever Blossoms

Today's share is the third card we will be making in our card class at the end of the month.  I was playing around with my Lasting Elegance dies and loved the background that I created!  I couldn't use it for the card I was working on so I set it aside and came back to it for a card for card class.

Once I decided this was it, I then pulled out my Forever Blossoms stamp set and used the Always & Forever stamp for the sentiment.  I thought it needed a little more, so I added the blossoms as well.  I used the retired Stitched Seasons framelits and popped up on dimensionals!

I hope you like this card and will enjoy creating with me soon.

Lots to Celebrate

Today's share is a shaker card using the new stamp set, Lots to Celebrate, which was designed by my Stampin' Up! upline, Susie Wood.

I love this new set as well as the Jar Punch which is in the annual catalog.  The Seasons's Greetings sentiment is from the Lots to Celebrate set; however the Warmth of Christmas sentiment is from a retired set called Timeless Tidings.  I couldn't find my snowflakes, so I used the retired Mica flakes for filler.

This is one of three cards my stamping group will make on August 25th at 6 pm and/or Sep 1st at 2 pm.

I hope you can make one of my classes soon!

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'

Upline CASE

Do you ever find a card on Pinterest that you just have to make?  Well, today's card is from a demonstrator in my upline, Lorraine W.  I love the colors, but couldn't find the correct papers.

I then went to make the card and I ran out of Gorgeous Grape card stock.  Okay, let's switch to Purple Posy!  Oops, I don't have the dies that she used, however, I do still have Swirly Scribble dies!

What I'm trying to say, is that you may fall in love with a card and don't have the supplies to make it.  What do you do?  You improvise by using what you DO have on hand.

This is a gate fold card that we will be making in our card class on Aug 25th at 6 pm and/or Sep 1st at 2 pm.  We are using Thoughtful Blooms & punch, Swirly Scribble dies, and the So Sweetly dies.  Hope to see you there!

Embroidery Meets Butterfly Gala

Today's share is a card I made using a "sample" that my husband made with his embroidery machine.  I couldn't not use it since I think it fits perfectly on this card.

The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala stamp set -- yes, I know these are dragonflies!  I liked the words since I'm trying to let friends and family know that even though we aren't together, that I still think about you!

If anyone knows how to mount without fraying my corners, please come in and teach me!  Other than that, the card is perfect.

I hope you are able to get some stamping/crafting done during our difficult pandemic times.

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'
