Color Your Season Bundle

This is a great suite and I wish Stampin' Up! would carry it over.  This is only available the month of August -- WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!  If you want this bundle, be sure to order early.

I took this with me to card class but forgot my sample cards.  Here are two cards I made with this set.

The top card was made using the watercolor pencils.  I made these both with Shimmer Paper.  The card below was colored using our Stampin' Blends.

Isn't that bow adorable?  It comes with the framelits for this bundle!  And check out the stitching on the card below. . this is also one of the new framelits.

I hope you enjoy today's share and will consider purchasing this set.  It's beautiful.  Come back tomorrow for some sample cards from other demonstrators!

Faux Stained Glass

So Julie came in to play and show me a technique she found pretty interesting.  This is a Faux Stained Glass effect.  We made a few modifications and came up with these cards.

Basically, we embossed the dragonfly using our new Big Shot Embossing Mats, on Whisper White cardstock.  We then colored the raised portions of the wings with Stampin' Write Markers.  We then used clear embossing powder on the wings to give them the glass effect.  We then put Stampin' Up! adhesive sheets on both sides of our foam (purchased from Walmart).  This is in lieu of die cutting three times and gluing together for a thicker layer. We then die cut the dragonfly and poked all the little pieces out.  We removed the adhesive sheet on the backside and layered over our clear embossed dragonfly.  We die cut another dragonfly out of whisper white cardstock and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  Then we removed the adhesive sheet from the top of our foam and added the black embossed dragonfly.  We then proceeded to create a couple of cards.

If you're thinking this is a waste of foam -- NO!  We saved all the pieces and are now using them for dimensionals!!

I hope this inspires you to play a little with your dies, embossing mat, and markers.

June Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Today's share are some cards I made with the June Paper Pumpkin kit.  The first two cards are made along the lines of the designed cards.  I didn't include the twine wrapped around the cards.

These next two cards are cased from our Paper Pumpkin Fan club page on Facebook.

I used the Broadway Bound DSP to add more elegance to these two cards.  The birthday sentiment is from an earlier Paper Pumpkin kit. I still have lots of supplies to make cards, but want to take a break from this kit.  I have July's Paper Pumpkin Kit that I'm just itching to get into.  That will be for another day.

Remember I have the Pop and Twist card class on Sunday, from 1-3 pm, at the Branson Mill Craft Village.  I also have a Waterfront Watercolor class on Tuesday evening, from 6-8 pm, at the Branson Community Center.

And, of course, you are invited to come play with me anytime I'm at the store!

Card Class

I want to share with you one of the cards Kathy made in card class on Sunday.  Because she already made the Beautiful You cards, I had her select three cards from my kits that I have left over.  She selected this card first.

Because I sold this stamp set, You've Got This, we used the Rose Wonder Stamp set.  Yes, I know this one is retired as well, but one that I absolutely love for a special birthday.  When Kathy said it was for a special person, this is the set I thought to use.

Here's Kathy's card using the Masking Tape Technique.  We combined a couple of stamp sets for the sentiment.

Kathy also made a couple of cards from my 6 X 6 Stamp a Stack class using the Picture Perfect Party Designer Series Papers.

If you would like to come into the Branson Mill and make your own cards, contact me today!  I have several kits and techniques cut and ready for a class.

Happy Crafting!

Card for a Special Friend

Today's share is a card I made especially for Betty.  She's a wonderful woman who is struggling with cancer.  If you would like to send her a card, contact me for her address.  She's not only a great friend; she's a great Mom, Grams, and Great Grams.

Betty came to my stamp classes for many years with her granddaughter, Tiffany.  She loves stamping and making cards.  I know she would love to receive more cards!

I die cut the foam using the framelits from the Hold on to Hope Stamp set.  I dusted it with Brusho and then spritzed.  I did blot it to soak up some of the water.  I then cut a second cross out of Whisper White cardstock and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder.  I did this a couple of times until I got the right shine to it.

Using my Stamparatus and Stampin' Write Markers, I colored the flowers and stem and stamped on Very Vanilla card stock.  I did this a couple of times to get the darkness I wanted.  Using the Stamparatus made this so easy!

Here's the inside of the card.

Betty, I hope you enjoy this card.

Hershey Nugget Boxes

Today's share are the gift boxes I made for my Christmas in July sale.  These boxes are made using Stampin' Up! cardstock, stamps, and ink.  The papers are non-Stampin' Up!

Did I mention these are made with just your paper trimmer?  These are fun to make and I had help with wrapping the nuggets!  The grand kids are here and so I put them to work wrapping all those nuggets.

Hope you are staying cool and enjoying these Christmas in July posts!

Christmas in July

Are you still trying to stay cool in these hot temperatures?  Well, here in Branson, MO, we're getting a little relief.  I was able to hang my banner in the store.  I used retired Designer Series Papers for this banner.

I then made another banner in case someone wanted to purchase mine!  Yes, I've had that happen before where I had to hurriedly make a "MERRY" to go with my "Christmas."

I love how this one turned out as well!  I cut the letters out of the Gold Foil Paper and attached using the mini dimensionals.  I used the Large Alphabet dies from Stampin' Up!  The papers are non-Stampin' Up! as is the die I used for the banners.  The snowflakes are a retired punch from Stampin' Up!

What do you do to stay cool in these horribly hot temperatures?  I craft Christmas stuff!  Come back tomorrow for some new Hershey Nugget Boxes.

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'
