Busy Days

Things are going to slow down soon enough, but for now, I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off!

My Craft Fair in August was very well attended.  I still have lots of crafts that I'm posting for sale.  Where are they for sale, you ask.  Well, I've been building a new website to sell my crafts, papers, etc. You can visit the link on the left with the Square symbol.  Otherwise click here.  I have free shipping for any item you purchase!

Here are a few cards I made with the July 2023, Fun in the Sun Paper Pumpkin.  They are listed on my store for sale as well.

Now, I'm preparing for the So Scrappy Fall Retreats in October.  I'm offering classes at the crop, so if you're interested, go to the site and purchase your seat.  Times haven't been confirmed at this time.

I cancelled September's card class because most of you had let me know you weren't able to come.  I'll reschedule for October in between my crop weekends.

Scraps - Welcome Inn

I used every bit of the Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin kit in this week's shares.  Here are the last of them.  I used Night of Navy and Bashful Blue for this card.  Using the Rectangle Dies, I cut the center piece from the back of one of the card bases in the kit.  I used my Night of Navy Stampin' Write marker to highlight the flowers on the paper.  I then stamped a vase and added a strip of Night of Navy to separate the flowers.  Yes, my sentiment is curvy, but I like it!

This next card is also on Bashful Blue.  I mounted a piece of the card back and then popped up strips of Night of Navy using pop up strips included in the kit.  I popped up the last printed vase and then added the sentiment.

This last card is on Boho Blue card base.  I added strips of a card base leftover.  And used the Subtle embossing folder.  I used some retired punches to punch flowers out of scraps to add to the vase.

Welcome Inn Meets Split Textures Dies

I pulled out the Split Textures Dies that I had on hand.  I really like how this card turned out.  Using leftover card backs, I used both dies to create today's cards.  The first card is Night of Navy mounted on basic white card base.  The card back is die cut and mounted on the navy.  I then added the preprinted floral arrangement.  Again, I stamped on Boho Blue card stock, fussy cut the vase.

For this card, I used the second die in the Split Textures Die set and cut down a card back.  I mounted the full piece onto a Boho Blue card base using dimensional strips. I stamped the sentiment on Boho Blue and popped up on dimensionals.

Welcome Inn Leftovers

What do you do with the leftover pieces of your Paper Pumpkin kits?  I used to just toss them into the box and tuck it away.  Well, I wound up with so many not being used, that I decided I would use them up as I make a kit.  So today's share are cards I made with leftover pieces.  First up is a card I made by using a piece of a card front to pop the frame up.  These are mounted on a basic white card base.

This card highlights the Encircled in Beauty large die.  I also used the retired Subtle embossing folder.  There were plenty of vases included in the kit.  So I stamped and placed this in the center of the doily.

I used the Subtle embossing folder with the Early Expresso layer and placed on basic white card stock.  I used up some Calypso Coral card pieces and highlighted the printed floral piece.  I stamped on Boho Blue cardstock and fussy cut the vase and popped up on dimensionals.  Again, I used the Hope and Prayer stamp set.

I hope you enjoy these alternatives!

Boho Blue - Welcome Inn

Today I'm sharing cards I made with the Boho Blue card bases provided in the Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin kit. This first card was CASEd from by Debbie Henderson's card, second one, which I saw in the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club group on Facebook.

We used one of the envelopes, sealed the flap down, and mounted onto basic white cardstock.  I stamped some flowers, stamp provided in the kit, and fussy cut to place on the frame.

This card was created using the suggested format in the kit, Welcome Inn.  Since I needed some sympathy cards, I used the Hope and Prayer stamp set for the sentiment.

Calypso Coral - Welcome Inn

Welcome back!  Today I'm using some of the calypso coral card bases used in a variety of ways to make my cards.

This first card, above, is pretty much like the sample in the kit.  I did cut the base and mounted onto a piece of basic white cardstock to have more of the papers available for more cards.

This next card is on basic white card base with the calypso coral papers behind the frame provided in the kit.  I added a piece of Night of Navy embossed cardstock as well.

This last card I used Daffodil Delight cardstock as the base and mounted the calypso coral layer.  I then used the floral print (provided in the kit) and stamped and mounted the vase.

I'll be back tomorrow with more!

Welcome Inn - Night of Navy

Today I'm sharing cards from the June 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit, Welcome Inn.  Paper Pumpkin is a subscription based kit that you can sign up for, buy pre-paid subscriptions to earn Sale-A-Bration (FREE) items.  You can skip a month any time you want.  There is a sneak preview that is sometimes posted so you will have a chance to see and skip that month.  You have until the 10th to decide.  If you forget, you will be charged and sent the monthly kit.

Onto the cards - I used what Night of Navy card bases were included in the kit as well as supplementing some card stock to make more cards.  This first card is close to the originally suggested format.  I used Bashful Blue card base, used a strip to separate the vase top from the base and added Thank You in lieu of the stamps included in the kit.

To add some more dimension, I used the Subtle embossing folder (retired) to emboss the Night of Navy piece.  This card is another version of the suggested card.

The last card is on a white card base with the embossed Night of Navy layer.  If you look closely, you will see that I mounted the orange flag (included in kit) before embossing.  I stamped and fussy cut (using my paper snips) three flowers (stamp included in the kit) and put them "in" the vase (also included in the kit).

I hope you enjoyed today's cards.  Tomorrow I'll be back with a few more made from this kit.

Scrapbooks Upcycled

Exactly what is upcycling?  For me, it's taking something you would normally throw away, and repurposing it.  So the first scrapbook for today is one I made using a mint tin and the Stampin' Up! Storytime Designer Series Papers.  Now this paper has long since retired, and if you know me, you know I have spares.  So if you'd like to make your own, I do have one pack of 12 X 12 papers left or I can make it for you!

This tin has the ABCs and numbers all laminated.

Next is the Paper Towel Roll scrapbook.  I invited ladies into my home and they were able to select from all the many scraps, ribbons, and chipboard I had available to make their own books. The first one is one my friend, Jan Caldwell, made.  The other two are kits I put together using Stampin' Up! card stock and designer series papers.

If you would like to schedule a class to come in and make your own, be sure to comment below or send me a message.

Next week, I'll be posting some greeting cards that I've made earlier this week.

Scrapbooking, Anyone?

Today's share are some scrapbooks that I've made and sold in my store before closing it. I have kits that will come with instructions, or you can purchase these already put together.

The first one is my explosion book.  This is an explosion scrapbook that can be customized by adding the baby's name on the front.  I do take special orders!

This next scrapbook is one I made in a Pizza Box that Stampin' Up! used to sell.  I have this one all made up and ready to sell.  Look closely and you can see a pouch that has a pull up card to place a photo as well.

Next up is the 6 X 6 scrapbooks.  These unfold as you open it. It has 7 pages to add photos and journaling.  I also have kits made up so they are available to purchase.

Lastly on this post, are the Star Albums.  First one is one I made for my granddaughter from a kit my sister bought for me.  The second one is a smaller one I made to sell in the store because someone asked for a smaller star.  These are great to have on your end table and have someone pick it up and open it!  You will here ohhhs and ahhhhs.

You get extra coordinating papers to add to the album.  You also get to decorate the front.

Come back tomorrow for some scrapbooks made with upcycled items.

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'

Bag of Cards

Today's share are what I call the Hallett Bag.  The pattern was designed by Carolyn Hallett so that's why I call them Hallett Bags.

Each bag holds 4 cards with envelopes.  I've given a few of these away and told my recipients to return the bag so I can refill it for them!  I usually include Birthday, Thinking of You, Thank You, and Sympathy.

I'll be making these for my craft fair in August so I have a few more to share later.  I use Stampin' Up! 12 x 12 Designer Series Papers, cardstock and stamps and ink.
