Another Rooted In Nature

Today's share is a card I made for my upline card swap.  I had to get them done and in the mail by June 22d.  Our Upline meeting is today so I thought I would share with all of you as well.

I used Mossy Meadow for the trees and stamped off for the shadows.  I cut the white piece into three sections to mount on the Mossy Meadow cardstock.  My words are from the Painted Glass Stamp set.  Once I stamped the words, I put clear embossing powder over my sentiment and heat embossed it.  My sentiment is popped up on dimensionals.

I hope you enjoy today's share.

Rooted In Nature

I tried to play a little with Brusho with the Rooted in Nature stamp set, but the image on the trees was too detailed.  So I used my ink pads and my markers and used the Thumping Technique.  Here is the finished card.

I also used the Rock and Roll technique on the leaves.  If you would like to learn either of these techniques, send me a message and we'll do a class!

Brusho Waterfront Cards

Here are Julie's cards from our playing with Brusho in the embossing folders. Remember, we tapped some Brusho on the areas of the embossing folder and then spritzed with water. We then placed our watercolor paper over the color, closed the embossing folder and used the retired brayer to bring out some of the raised imaging.

After we finished the embossing folders, we tried Brusho on the stamps.  We used Waterfront for this.

Here are some sample cards that Bailey and I made with our samples that we played with.

Here is Bailey using the Stamparatus to help stamp the words for my card.  We made a couple of other cards but need to wait to post due to birthdays coming up.

My card, shown above, I used the Aqua Painter to blend in the colors since I had spots of Brusho on the skyline.

I hope you enjoy the cards we've made.  Remember, you, too, can stop in and play with me!

Play Time

Every Thursday, Julie tries to come in and have craft time.  I love that she does this because it allows me to really play!  Most days I'm crafting, I'm not always trying new things.  I prepare supplies for card classes or I'm making customized cards or crafts.  I love what I do but playing with new stuff is always more fun!

Last Thursday, we got out our Brusho.  WARNING:  It is messy even with just one hole punched in the top! My granddaughter, Bailey, had so much fun!  Up until today, she wasn't so interested in crafting with me.  I hope this will spark more interest for her!

So first we tried Brusho in the embossing folders.  We tapped some Brusho on the areas of the embossing folder and then spritzed with water.  We then placed our watercolor  paper over the color, closed the embossing folder and used the retired brayer to bring out some of the raised imaging.  We also ran them through the big shot.

Here are some samples of our work:

Here's Bailey's cards from the above samples.  She made these the next day.

If you would like to schedule a play date, just email me, call me or stop in to set up a date!

More Brusho updates for tomorrow so this post isn't toooo long!

Manly Moments May 2018 Paper Pumpkin

Last Thursday I told you I made some of these cards into gift card holders.  The Manly Moments Paper Pumpkin kit helped me get into making some masculine cards.  Not always easy to do, right?

Well, with this kit, I think I hit the mark on the birthday cards.  Here is the inside:

Let me know what you think!

Graceful Glass Vellum DSP

Today's share are some cards that I've made even though they have no words on them.  I thought i would start carrying/making cards that can be customized to order.  These cards can be for Congratulating someone on a promotion or new baby; a wedding, or a birthday.

I colored on the backside of the vellum and adhered to Whisper White cardstock so the colors would pop.  I love how these turned out and I got in some coloring time too!

Remember, you are welcome to come out and play with me anytime that fits your schedule.  Missed a class but want to make cards?  Let me know -- I have a variety of cards available for us to choose from!

Love What You Do

I love the Love What You Do stamp set as well!  I know, you're thinking "She loves all the stamp sets!"  Well, pretty darn close to all of them!

This is the third card we'll be making on Tuesday evening, from 6-8 pm, at the Branson Community Center.  Be sure to let me know you are attending so I have enough supplies ready for everyone.

We're using the specialty paper, Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow Cardstock as well as the new velvet ribbon.

If you haven't yet tried the Stamparatus, come to one of my classes.  We'll be using it during this class.  See what you are missing!

Beautiful Day

I LOVE the Beautiful Day stamp set.  We will be using this set in our class on Tuesday night, 6-8 pm at the Branson Community Center.  Thank you, Julie E., for letting us use your stamp set!

Here are two of the cards we'll be making:

This first card is using the 3-D Dynamic Lovely Floral embossing folder, White Embossing Powder, Stampin' Blends, and sponge daubers and ink pad for coloring the embossed piece.

I used a non-Stampin' Up! embossing folder since my 3-D Dynamic Layered Leaves folder hasn't come in yet.  But it has shipped!!  We're also using markers to color the flower and real red ink for the words.

Manly Moments Alternative Cards

I know Father's Day is behind us, but I wanted to share some of the cards I made with the Manly Moments Paper Pumpkin kit. I used the trees from Rooted in Nature to add some texture to the front of the cards.

The cards with the plaid piece were made into Gift Card Holders. This is the one card I made as a regular card. I added a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock to the front. I like how this turned out!

New Host Code

We have a new host code for June since I've closed my Open House order.  Please use this code, AJBCJ4EJ, when placing your order.  This helps me replenish card stock and other supplies.

Here are some cards I made for my Open House.  I hope you enjoy the new catalog as much as I am enjoying it!

Heat Embossing Vellum Class

Our next class at the Branson Community Center, is scheduled for June 26th, from 6-8 PM.  If you have never stamped before, come out and play with us!

Here are some samples of heat embossed images on vellum.  I had fun playing with different embossing powders and so will you!  I was inspired by a card swap I received at On Stage in April.  Lois A., THANK YOU!

On these sample pieces, I used white embossing powder.  I also used our Stampin' Write markers to color the backside of the vellum.  And yes, we will be fussy cutting these out to make our cards.

On these samples, I used Gold Embossing Powder and I snapped a picture of the Stampin' Write Markers I used on these images.

Here is one of the cards I made using the Red Rose.  My sister, Marilyn, LOVES red, so what better color than Lovely Lipstick for her birthday card!

Starburst Class

First, I'd like to thank the ladies who attended my Card Class at the Branson Community Center.  Even though I forgot the Shammie and the heat gun, we still successfully crafted three cards.  If you missed this class and want to make the cards, I will have kits available at the Branson Mill Craft Village!

So yesterday, I had the Starburst class.  Both participants were a little nervous, but they did great.  Leave them a big shout out for doing a great job!

Shout Out!!

I'd like to give a loud shout out to my sister, Marilyn, who is a huge inspiration to me.  Today is her birthday, and I want everyone to wish her a Happy Birthday!

Here's are a few throwback photos of us crafting in her craftroom in Pennsylvania.

Happy Birthday, Marilyn!

If you would like to learn how to make these "Hallet" bags, schedule a class with me today!  I call these "Hallet" bags because of the lady who created them and inspired me was Carolyn H.

Watercolor Pencils

Just a reminder that we have a Watercolor Pencil class tomorrow night from 6-8 pm at the Branson Community Center.  I hope to see you there!

Here are some of the pieces that I played with when Julie came out to the store.  I have so many leftovers that I need to find time to make more cards!

Just randomly select your colors and use your aqua painter to smooth out the coloring and blend them.  I chose Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight because when blending, they make a third color, my favorite, green!

We will be using the Dragonfly die again for these cards, as well as the die brush and pad to get those little pieces out.  Here is another card I made:

These will make great masculine cards and if you leave the sentiments off, you can customize when you need a birthday, celebration, or get well card!

Watercolor Wash

The third card we'll be making on Tuesday night is the watercolor wash card, using the Love What You Do stamp set and the Statement of My Heart stamp.

Our colors are Berry Burst, Flirty Flamingo, and Grapefruit Grove.  We'll be using the Stamparatus for this class as well so if you haven't tried using one, you can come in and try it out!

Let me know if you are attending by RSVP.  You can do this via email, my Facebook page event, under Desiree's Craftroom, or by calling the Branson Community Center.  I look forward to sharing these techniques with you!

Dragonflies, Oh My!

Well, these are what I have left over after Julie's play date.

Here are two of the cards we'll be making for June 12th.  I want to finish up some more of these cards so I have some different looks for you!

Here is the color scheme that we will be doing on Tuesday, using Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.

We're going to make two cards from one watercolor project!  Using the negative of any project is always a plus in my book.

I've mounted the watercolor paper onto Daffodil Delight after I die cut the dragon flies from the center.  I mounted this onto a Pacific Point card base.

We'll be stamping our sentiments in Pacific Point to coordinate with our dragonflies.  On this first card, we are using the negative (blue dragonflies) from our layer on our second card.

I really like how these turned out and I hope you will too!  Remember to RSVP for class so I know how many to expect!

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'

New Catalog!

Are you enjoying your new catalog?  I certainly am.  If you don't already have a catalog, be sure to stop in and see me at the Branson Mill.

I didn't get any crafting done yesterday as one of my girls became an escape artist and I had to go home to help fix the problem!

This is Penny - darling little Chocolate Dapple Piebald Dachshund, (white dog in front) my escape artist!

Now she cannot get off the deck until we're ready to let her off the deck!

Hope to craft some more today or demonstrate how to use the Stamparatus!  Be sure to stop in and see me; I love showing off our new product!
