Fall Decor

It's beginning to feel like Fall!  You thought I was going to say "Christmas," didn't you?  Well I was inspired by Lisa C. to create this cute FALL banner.

I used the Country Home Designer Series Papers (DSP), some chipboard from my Specialty Designer Series papers (did you notice they have thicker backing than our regular DSP?), some leftover burlap ribbon that is not Stampin' Up!, Large Letter Framelits and a few other embellishments.

This was super easy and fun to make!  Let me know if this is something you would like to learn how to do!  Imagine the different holidays -- Halloween - BOO!, Thankful, Blessed, oh, the thoughts keep coming!

Marine Salute - PeekABoo Card

Today's share is another card that Julie and I crafted while she was playing with me on Thursday.  This one is for our Marines.  We used Real Red, retired Summer Sun, Whisper White cardstock and Night of Navy and Real Red inks.  We used Loyal and True (current stamp set) and For Your Country (retired) for this card.

This card gave us the most trouble -- probably because by the time we got to this card, we were getting tired. . . yes, the strip of white on top is covering a blooper.  This card uses the Barn Door Framelits to help with the sliding mechanism.  Definitely a must see in person!

To cover my smudges from my fingers and edging from the stamp, we added more circles.  I love how this one came out.

Here is Julie's Card:

I hope you enjoy today's share.  I'm excited because I get to make the Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard cards when I have time.

Army Salute - Peekaboo Card

Today's card is another one Julie and I made on Thursday.  We used the retired stamp set, For Your Country, current stamp set, Daisy Delight, and Momento Black, Real Red, and Versa Mark inks. We used the Versa Mark on the front.

This is the inside of my card.  I decided to add Mossy Meadow dog tags to my Thank You.  The Thank You is from Daisy Delight -- we masked and cleaned before moving on to stamp the You.

Here is Julie's card:

Inside

I hope you enjoy today's share.  Remember I said we make tweaks?  Well we decided to use the Barn Door framelits and create sliders for this card so the back doesn't flop and confuse the recipient on opening it.  You really need to see these in person to appreciate the affect!

Play Date - Healing Hugs

So Julie came to play yesterday and we had a blast.  She showed me Jennifer McGuire's video on the Peek-A-Boo card last week and I knew I wanted to make some!  Well, play we did!

Today's share is a card we made using the Healing Hugs stamp set.  We did use the Stamparatus to aid with lining up our roses which made it sweet!  We used Petal Pink and Soft Seafoam inks.

I will be sharing over the next few days the cards that we made -- we made three each so I will post the cards that I have.  Julie kept her card of this design for a friend.

We used the square stitched framelit for this card.

We will be making this technique card on October 23rd at the Branson Community Center, from 6-8 pm.  I will also schedule this class at the Branson Mill Craft Village during the day.

After making this card, we made a few modifications so come back tomorrow to see our next creation!

Barn Door Card

Tuesday night I had 12 wonderful ladies join me to learn how to make this card.  I'd forgotten to take pictures during the creation so had to make another one yesterday.  I took an "OOPS" cut from class and turned it into a double rail barn door.

I'll be offering this card class at the Branson Mill Craft Village in October.  Be watching my schedule!

Be sure to leave me a comment on how you liked class and what you think of this card!

Playing Around

So I am still cleaning out my craft room downstairs in my home and making cards.  I'm looking for simple, mail-able Christmas cards for family and friends.

Well this card is very simple and uses some retired Designer Series Paper (DSP) that is on the Clearance Rack right now!  I used the Quilted Christmas DSP and some of the felt embellishments that I found in my Craft Room.  These are Stampin' Up! but they are retired and not on the Clearance Rack.

The sentiment is from the Timeless Tidings Stamp set that is in our new Holiday Catalog.  I used my Everyday Label Punch to punch this out.  Sometime when we're in class, I will show you how to shorten up the punch.  Sandy learned how to do this in the Christmas Card Class we did on Sunday!

I love sharing different ways to use our product.  If you have a tip to share, let me know!

Finished Notepad

I wanted to give you an update on this notepad.

So I thought it needed more holly in the upper left corner and then stamp a sentiment on the front.  Because I wanted you to be able to use this year round, I didn't want specifically Christmas.

Well, I saw this verse in the Timeless Tidings stamp set and it just seemed appropriate.  Also in this set was the holly leaves!

I heat embossed in Gold the verse.  This lasted one day in my store.  A lady came in and snatched it up before I could post or show my class attendees the finished front!

I will be making more of these using retired papers because I LOVE the sturdiness of the cover.

Desiree'

Gift Boxes

I was cleaning out my craft room (Yes, STILL), and found a bag of tea lights.  I got to thinking, why not make a box for these to sell in my store?

This is my first attempt and it's okay.  I modified it a little bit more after this picture was taken so I can fit six tealights in this box.  And guess what?  You can fit 9 Hershey Nuggets in this box!  How cool is that?

If you want to learn how to make gift boxes, be sure to sign up for one of my gift classes.  We're making a Mini Milk Carton Box in this month's Gift Class.  I'll be switching things up so you can learn a variety of boxes.  I will feature this box in October's Gift Class.

What other things can you think of to put in these boxes?  Leave me a note. .

Duck, Duck, ?

Okay, I'm being a little cheesy today.  I had a customer come in and check out my little Curvy Keepsake Critters.  Remember a while back I had a lady that wanted a pig - well she got one!

This customer wanted to see if I could make a duck.  What do you think?  Is he too big?  I used retired and current punches to create this guy.

I'm having fun crafting for others.  If there is something you would like to see made, or would like a kit for, let me know!

Want to take a gift class or card class?  I have lots of kits all ready to go.  You can purchase the kits or take a class and I'll help you put them together!

New Notepad

I need some suggestions.  I had a customer come in and ask what I used to make my covers.  I normally use just cardstock.  I got to thinking about this and thought, "Wow, I could use some of the backing from Stampin' Up! designer series papers.  This would make the cover really sturdy!

So I played with this idea.  Here are two pictures of the notepad.  Now I still make them so they are refillable -- this is a good selling point.

I used one full sheet of cardstock to cover the inside of the cardboard.  I used retired designer series paper for the cover - both front and back.  I made a sleeve for the notepad so it is easy to remove when empty and add a new notepad.

What do you use to cover your notepads?

Now I need to come up with words or a sentiment for the cover.  Suggestions?  Yes, please leave me a comment on what you think should be on the cover.

Desiree'

Daisies Notepad with Pocket for Pen

Today's share is the newer version of Notepad Covers I'm making for my craft store.  These are a great way to use up retired Stampin' Up! designer series papers.

This is done using the current stamp set, Daisy Delight, 143669, and coordinating punch, 143713.  I love how this one turned out and really like the pocket for the pen.  I still need to perfect the pocket, and will continue to work on this.

These are made with a slide in the back so you can refill the notepad when you've used up the one provided.  You can stop in and see these in my Craft Store, located inside the Branson Mill Craft Village.  Want to learn how to make these?  Contact me for a class!

Rose Notepad Cover

So today's share is a project I needed to get done since I've sold all but one of these in my craft store.  I make these so they are refillable and this year I added a pen using ribbon to hold the pen in place.

I did use retired papers for this cover but I used the rose from Healing Hugs, 146530, a DistINKtive stamp.  The words are from Flourishing Phrases, 141534.

Here's the rose close up.  I did add some Wink of Stella to make it pop.

Be sure to come back on Monday and see the new style of notepad and pen holder.

I'm still playing with this, but I love these covers for the 5 X 8 notepads.
