Paper Pumpkin, July 2021, Let the Adventure Begin

Paper Pumpkin, July 2021, Let the Adventure Begin

When I first saw this kit, I wasn't thrilled.  I've had nothing but bad experiences camping . . .whether it was tent or campers.  I waited before putting this kit together and Rachel T. inspired me to make this card.

Again - a great graduation, someone leaving home on their own, new adventures!  I know, looking at this card it appears to be just like the kit instructed. . .

But here's the inside!  Yes, I did have to use up other card fronts but keep coming back to see what I did with the leftovers!

Paper Pumpkin, July 2021, Adventure Begins

Paper Pumpkin, July 2021, The Adventure Begins

I'm sharing more cards I made with this kit because, if you haven't checked, this kit has refills available!  With Graduation coming up, this kit is great.  So many different verses to use.  First up, Congrats!  I took one of the insides of the card base in the kit and cut it into four strips.  By mounting them on a coordinating color, it pops off the Night of Navy card base.

On this Congrats card, I cut one of the envelopes for the layering piece.  I then stamped one tree and popped up the cutouts from the kit.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card alternative.

Retiring Flowering Fields Designer Series Papers

Retiring Flowering Fields Designer Series Papers

Today I'm featuring the Flower Fields DSP which is available until 30 June 2022, or while supply lasts.

For the first card, I used the Bumble Bee card base.  This is a retiring In-Color, May 2, 2022, so supply is limited.

This is a Dutch Door card, which we've made in class before.  I used a Basic Grey for highlighting the flowers as well as the image.  I used In the Moment stamp set (carrying over into new catalog) for the image. I also stamped the image on a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut the dress and hat out.

I masked the glass of wine so she's just looking out.  The sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set (carrying over).

The second card is also using scraps leftover from my sisters' cards I made.  I won't be able to post those until later.  If you're asking yourself "how are these scraps?", remember this paper comes in 12 X 12 sheets!

I kept this one fairly simple, letting the flowers do the job.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set, Healing Hugs.

Remember, use what you have on hand.  If you like some of the papers I've used, be sure to contact me because I may still have some paper shares left!

Retiring Hand Penned Designer Series Papers

Retiring Hand Penned Designer Series Papers

I hope each of you were able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather in Branson.  The weekends are busy catching up on posts and creating cards to make while my husband's in treatment all day on Mondays.

Today's share is making cards with scraps of designer series papers (DSP).  We're using Hand Penned DSP today, showing off the beauty of the paper itself.

The first card, I used Pale Payaya card stock with a layer of black to bring out the colors in the paper.  Leaving a smidgeon of black showing, I was able to use all the small pieces I had leftover from other cards.  I used the retiring Everyday Label Punch for the sentiment and layer.

For the second card, I had a larger piece of the Hand Penned DSP so I put a scrap strip of black on the left side of the Fresh Freesia card base.  I then added the dsp.  I pulled the Misty Moonlight from the dsp to add as a background to the sentiment.  I also used the double oval punch on this card.

All of the colors I used today are being carried over so you will have plenty of time to pick up your cardstock!  The double oval punch is also carrying over.

Keep these card ideas in mind and use whatever designer series papers you have on hand to make your cards.

Paper Pumpkin Inspiration

 Paper Pumpkin Inspiration

Here are three cards I made and included in the box of cards I donated.  The So Cool Paper Pumpkin kit inspired me to pull my retired birthday designer series papers and use up the rest of the scraps.

I hope you will join me soon for a class!  I have cards already cut and ready to put together.  Some we'll have to redesign since I no longer have all the retired stamp sets.

Paper Pumpkin, April 2021, So Cool Part 3

Paper Pumpkin, April 2021, So Cool Part 3

Today I'm sharing the cards I made with the Popsicle card bases and stickers in the kit.  The striped designer series paper is actually the inside of the envelopes included in the kit!

I so enjoyed this kit.  I had bits and pieces left over so I pulled some more retired designer series papers and made more cards!  Come back tomorrow to see those.

Paper Pumpkin, April 2021, So Cool Part 2

Paper Pumpkin, April 2021, So Cool Part 2

Today I'm sharing the cards I made with the watermelon card bases and stickers in the kit.  I cut down the cards into quarters to make some of the cards. I also used the retired Watermelon Wonder cardstock and designer series papers.

Come back tomorrow to see the popsicles!  They were my favorite to work with.

Paper Pumpkin, April 2021, So Cool

Paper Pumpkin, April 2021, So Cool

So this is the kit I chose to take to my husband's first cancer treatment.  At first, I attempted to stamp there and quickly realized that was not going to work.

So I took the kit back home and stamped everything, put dimensionals on what I knew I wanted popped up and put everything inside each card base.  The next week I was able to put them all together!  Here's one portion and then I'm going to post each card.  Since I made over 20 cards with this kit and some additional papers, I'll spread them over the next three days.

First I'll post the rainbow cards.  The rainbows were part of the kit as well as the sun.  If they were stickers, I mounted them onto basic white cardstock so I could pop them up.

As you can see, they are colorful, cheery and hope they inspire the person receiving them.  These have already been donated.

Using Up Paper Scraps

Using Up Paper Scraps

Can you guess which parts were scraps?  These are the last of my cards I made using up paper scraps.

Here's what was scraps - the greenery designer paper on the first card, the framing (from PP tags) on the second card, and the floral bouquet on the third card.

I had fun making these and hope to share some more cards that I made and gave to the Cancer and Infusion centers tomorrow!

Paper Pumpkin, June 2021, Expressions in Color

Paper Pumpkin, June 2021, Expressions in Color

I've shared some cards previously from this kit.  These are made from leftover vellum, die cut pieces and some card bases that came with the kit.  Sentiments are from the included stamp set.

I used my blends to highlight the different languages of Thanks as well as adding color to the flowers. I love how these turned out!

Monday I will post cards that I made with this kit and some leftover scraps in my scrap bin.

Masculine Cards

 Masculine Cards

These cards I purchased as a kit, but never made them.  I finally got around to making them while going through my incomplete cards. I used Sailing Home (retiring this month!) bundle.

April 2022 Card Class

April 2022 Card Class

These are the three cards I created for our April card class. Please call or email me to set up a time so you can come make them!  My schedule is open after 4 pm every week day.  Most days (T-Fri) I'm open from 10-2 pm.  Saturdays & Sunday afternoon are available as well.

The first two cards are using Dragonfly Garden (which is carrying over to new catalog!)

The last card is made using the Dragonfly Dreams retired stamp set.  I didn't have the new Honeybee Home stamp set yet.

If you would like to purchase these cards as a kit, you will need to use your own stamp sets, dies, and ink.  Only the cardstock and designer series papers will be in the kit.

I appreciate your patience in scheduling a time to come stamp with me.  We're about half way through treatment, so class will be scheduled when I can.

Happy Crafting,

Desiree'
