Update from the Branson Mill

I've been super busy getting ready to start our classes at the Branson Mill.  Yesterday I worked on making more Snowman Hershey Bar wraps.  I was able to finish more of these pouches to put out today as well.  Come back tomorrow to see what was added to my Christmas Tree!  

Tuesday, I will be having Card Buffet.  You will need to come to my booth and see how many cards you want to make.  I will then provide you with a sticker with the cost to make the number of cards you want.  You will take this up front and pay for the cards and then bring your receipt back to me so you can make your cards.  I will make myself available but will have to answer any questions other customers may have.  

On Saturday, December 5th, we will be making the 2016 4X4 Calendars.  Be sure to let me know if you will be making more than one so I can have enough supplies cut.

Hershey's Christmas Tree

I found this idea on QBee's website, Brenda Quintana.  I love making crafts that include Hershey chocolates because who doesn't like chocolate?  

I used my retired Handsome Hunter cardstock for the base and our new Real Red striped ribbon for the bows.  I used Chocolate Chip cardstock for the tree trunk.  I hope to make some with Real Red cardstock and use our new Green striped ribbon on it.  

I love this idea and I hope you do too!

It's Saturday, What Are You Doing Today?

I was busy last night after spending the day at the Branson Mill.  Come back tomorrow to see what I worked on.  In the meantime, here is the 8" curly paper wreath I finished yesterday while at the Mill.  I love the medallion added to the paper and the bright red bow!

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family!  Today's share is a project I was asked to make for a customer who came to visit the Branson Mill.  She wanted a couple of fall colored scrapbooks.  Take a look and let me know what you think. . . .

I had a fun time crafting these. I used retired Designer Series Papers, paper towel rolls, and coordinating cardstock for the belly band and papers that insert into the pockets.  Let me know if you would like to learn how to make one of these.  I will need to know in advance so I have all the supplies to make one of these while you craft at the Branson Mill.

Today I'm grateful for the warmth and sunshine we're having. We will be working outside today to put up our Christmas lights for the season.

Weekend is Over!

I missed posting Saturday and Sunday; Saturday's grateful list includes me being grateful for Leanne, Aleta, and Amy for coming out and making Christmas Cards with me.  We had a lot of fun and Aleta and Amy's cards were completely done, but Leanne left some of the piece work on one of her cards for when she got home.  

After the ladies left, I headed out to move all my stuff to the Branson Mill.  I picked up my bar code labels and spent five hours on Sunday, sorting and bar coding items to sell.  Sunday's grateful is for the many visitors that come to the Branson Mill while visiting Branson.  While setting up my space, I was able to sell a couple of items before I was even done for the day!  

Today, I'm grateful for my health.  Even though I've been doing a lot of lifting and carrying items, I'm still having fun setting up my booth.  I hope you will be able to come out and see me soon!  In the meantime, here are some shots of what my new place looks like.  Leave me a comment to let me know what you think of the space!

Pinecones, Anyone?

Today, I am grateful for new friends.  Yesterday we took our neighbors out for lunch and found out that we both love to craft.  Vivian hand-stitches all her quilting! I'm not sure I have the patience for that!  It's getting close to the Christmas shopping season here in Branson. I usually make my grandchildren handmade ornaments each year. 

This year, I'm playing with this idea I found on Pinterest from The Hybrid Chicks.  I love the concept and although mine isn't perfect, it is handmade and I will hang this on my tree! 

Last year's ornaments got lost in the mail so they never received them.  Bah humbug!  

Each ornament had their names on the front, above, and the year on the back, below.

I hope you enjoy today's share and don't forget, we have Christmas Card class tomorrow -- you choose what time and how many of which card to make.  Just make sure I know the quantity of which cards so I have your supplies cut and ready for you when you arrive.  Class is from 10 am to 5 pm -- I'm available to assist you in your custom Christmas Cards. Each card is $2.50 to make including the envelope.  I hope you can join me tomorrow!

New Craftroom Space

Today I'm grateful for the Branson Mill Craft Village!  This is the front of the building, just so you don't get confused with the Branson Mall!! I am moving Desiree's Craftroom from Picker's Market to the Branson Mill.  I will be moving things gradually, but will be completely out of Picker's by November 20th!  

Here is the crafting space we will be using for classes.  I believe we'll have enough space.

And here is where I will be doing demonstrations from time to time.

And lastly, I am touching up the slat wall for hanging my crafts that I have for sale.  

Today, I have to get some laundry done and finish prepping materials for Saturday's Christmas Card Class.  If you haven't reserved your Christmas Card class seat yet, be sure to get in touch with me.  I need to have all your supplies cut ahead of time so you aren't waiting on me!

Today I'm grateful for our VETERANS.  Those who served in the past, are now serving, and those who are going to serve. Since I love doxies, I've kept these two to express to our veterans-- THANK YOU!

What A Beautiful Day!

Today I'm grateful for the 73 degree day!  What a gorgeous day we had.  

It's been a little crazy here as I'm moving my store! Look for more news as I make progress.  Pictures soon of my new store, I promise.  

Today, we went to Springfield to check out some bar chairs. My space has a nice counter and another space where I can have my crafting tables.  I think you will enjoy this new space to craft as much as I will!

Seeing Stars

Today I am grateful for my craftiness and that I can share my talent with you.  

Yes, I'm seeing stars!  I was commissioned to make 24 stars using old hymnal pages.  Let me tell you, first of all, that this paper is VERY thin!  I cut my pages to 4" squares, and then started folding.  

After I completed the stars, I added a bit of Stampin' Up! Gold Glitter around the points.  I used two-way glue on the points and dabbed the points into gold glitter.  They really came out beautifully.

To finish the stars, I sprayed them with some urethane clear finish.  This not only protects the glitter from falling off, it also strengthens the paper.  

I'm off this morning to deliver these stars so keep your fingers crossed they want more!

Today I'm . . .

Grateful for God and all the people He has chosen to be in my life.  I love catching up on the news of my friends and family that are far away, even if it is on Facebook!  

Yesterday, we had fun creating four cards.  The most challenging card was the reverse image card.  I think we will need to revisit this card to make it easier to craft without getting glue all over us and our card front!
